About the Event: The season kicks off with two works by our beloved Mendelssohn: his Hebrides Overture, inspired by the profound beauty and solitude of Fingal’s Cave, and to celebrate the 500th year since Martin Luther’s 95 Thesis, the impactful Symphony No. 5, “The Reformation.” The evening ends (or just begins!) with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, the tale of the exotic story-teller that changed her fate with 1,001 magically-woven stories.
