Docent: Kate Weingart
The beauty of the female form has always been a popular subject of art. Women as creators have been historically less prominent. For centuries, women artists have been repressed, denied art education, awards and commissions in a male-dominated art world. Through adversity many women have continued creating art, achieved a high level of skill and well-deserved recognition. This themed tour will highlight artwork in the permanent collection created by women, and will explore the history of women in art.
These monthly themed tours are free for Appleton members; included with admission fee for nonmembers. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or 352-291-4455, ext. 1836.
