22nd Annual “Trains at the Holidays”

Kick off the holidays at the Webber Gallery as the Ocala Model Railroaders present “Trains at the Holidays.” Built and operated by local members, the exhibit features modular train layouts inspired by historical local area landmarks, such as the Six-Gun Territory. Join us for the 22nd year of this holiday classic, loved by the young and old alike.

Recycled Art Exhibit @ Discovery Center

RECYLED ART EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY THROUGH FRIDAY, JAN. 19
OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 29, 2017) – A Recycled Art exhibit is currently on display at the Discovery Center (first floor) located at 701 NE Sanchez Ave. through Friday, Jan. 19. This exhibit is free and open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This exhibit showcases 21 pieces from local artists ranging from children to seniors. Artwork in this exhibit includes collages, kinetic sculptures and assemblage, all of which utilize a range of recycled materials such as motorcycle parts, trash, old magazines, vintage clothing and more.
This exhibit is being held in conjunction with the Discovery Center’s main exhibit, Super Kids Save the World, which teaches families how to reduce, reuse, repair and recycle. Admission for this exhibit is $6 per person or $20 for a family of four. This exhibit is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A hands-on exhibit that empowers kids to reduce, reuse, repair, and recycle!

Admission is $6.00/person or $20.00/family of 4.

Saturday Programming

  1. Planetarium shows at 11:00am and 1:00pm as a $3.00/person admission ticket add-on.

  2. On September 30th, October 28th, November 25th, and December 23rd and 30th we offer our Super Saturdays program as a $2.00/person admission ticket add-on.

    • The Super Saturdays program includes story time, hands-on science, and a craft!

Ice Skating at Tuscawilla Park @ Tuscawilla Park

‘LET’S SKATE OCALA’ ICE RINK OPENS SATURDAY, NOV. 11
OCALA, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2017) – The City of Ocala’s ‘Let’s Skate Ocala’ ice rink will open to the public Saturday, Nov. 11 in conjunction with the annual Harvest Fest Music and Food Truck Festival. The skating rink will be located at Tuscawilla Park, 500 NE Sanchez Ave., and will be open through Sunday, Dec. 31.
Admission is $5 per person for a 30 minute session. The rink will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 9 p.m., Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. The rink will be closed Mondays and Wednesdays for private rentals and parties. Effective Monday, Oct. 23, the basketball courts at Tuscawilla Park will be closed to allow for installation of the Let’s Skate Ocala ice rink. These courts are expected to re-open to the public by late January 2018.

Santa on the Square – Downtown Ocala @ Downtown Ocala
Dec 12 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

“Santa on the Square” returns to Downtown Ocala in December.  This holiday family friendly event will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the downtown square.

Children of all ages will enjoy music, snacks, hay rides and even a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus! This event is complimentary and open to the public.

HITS Ocala Holiday Classic @ Hits Post Time Farm

The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit offers exhibitors 10 consecutive weeks of shows with two additional weeks of USEF-Rated shows—the Ocala Holiday Series—in mid-December. The extensive range of classes, offering over $4 million in prize money, and abundant show opportunities makes HITS Post Time Farm in Ocala, Florida, a prime winter destination. The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit features USEF National and Premier-Rated Hunters, 5* and 6* Jumpers, two $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derbies and qualifiers for the HITS Championship. In February, HITS Post Time Farm will also play host the 2018 FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping for the fourth consecutive year. The HITS Ocala Winter Circuit culminates each March with the Great American $1 Million Grand Prix.

HITS moved to Post Time Farm in 2002, where exhibitors take advantage of the Horse Capital of the World. With 450 lush acres, 52 miles of four-board fencing, and 30 permanent barns, HITS Post Time Farm is an inviting home-away-from-home for you and your horse to enjoy a world-class showing experience.
