ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES
Many are familiar with the vast Ocala National Forest and Silver Springs’ endless opportunities for outdoor activities, but more and more guests are experiencing the fun of our 41 other parks. Along with hiking trails, these recreation wonderlands are home to camping, boating, fishing, swimming and wildlife observation.
Located on the corner of SR 40 and CR 315, the Ocklawaha Visitors Center is a great place to begin. This multi-agency resource provides information on all the public recreation facilities in the county—plus a 2.5-mile trail that extends through the Ocklawaha River floodplain to Ray Wayside Park.
The Silver River State Park was named for its most outstanding natural feature, the Silver River. The park is home to several nature trails, the Silver River Museum and a host of other riverside amenities.
Located just outside the town of Orange Springs in the northern portion of the county, Horseshoe Lake has more than 200 acres of oak hammock and pines nestled around a sandy-bottomed, spring-fed lake. Bring the family and enjoy all that it has to offer.
Also be sure to check out the Marion County Parks Directory.
