Annually, the Ocala/Marion County Visitor and Convention Bureau brings community leaders, elected officials and the hospitality industry to celebrate the success of tourism in Marion County. The event recognizes the impact of tourism in Marion County, provides insights on the current initiatives of the Ocala/Marion County VCB and shares new projects that will impact tourism in the near future.

Lauren is passionate about empowering destination organizations to effectively promote their communities as vibrant places to visit, work, and live. Loretta Shaffer

Tourist Development Director, Ocala/Marion County VCB

Loretta Shaffer, Tourism Development Director for the Ocala/Marion County Visitors & Convention Bureau (VCB) and board member for VISIT FLORIDA, has been instrumental in elevating the region as a premier destination. With over 24 years of tourism experience, she has led initiatives that have significantly increased visitation and economic impact. Under her leadership, the VCB has launched innovative programs and secured prestigious awards, including two Flagler Awards for excellence in destination marketing.
