VALENTINE’S DAY IS IN THE AIR IN OCALA/MARION

Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year and there are lots of events happening to help you celebrate the day.
Tap into your artistic side at Gallery B. for a day for fun and creativity. Guided by a local artist, create a beautiful valentine inspired work of art for yourself or for someone special. Kids are welcome! The activities begin Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More details available here!
Kick off the weekend early at HITS Post Time Farm to see the best of show horse from around the world. The Ocala Winter Festival’s USHJA Green Hunter Incentive is on Thursday, Feb.13 and then watch the high stakes competition, $200,000 Ocala Electric Utility Grand Prix, on Sunday Feb. 16. Located in the heart of the “Horse Capital of the World”™, HITS Post Time Farm includes 450 lush acres, over 100 permanent turn-out paddocks and 30 permanent barns. Enjoy Valentine’s Day with the Appleton Museum of Art’s party for friends, couples and singles that celebrates love is love, in any language. Taste hors d’oeuvres from cuisines around the world and spirits featuring international beer and wine. Between tasty bites, dance your heart out to music by a guest DJ and take photos with the museum’s larger-than-life balloon wall.
Tickets are $40 per person and detail about purchasing are available at this link. The event is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join the community for an art fundraiser in Tuscawilla Park to support families and children. On Saturday, Feb. 15 come out and paint something you love. The event encourages creativity in children of all skill levels by providing the opportunity for the children to paint. Each ticket will include a canvas, an assortment of paintbrushes and access to several art and craft supplies.
There will also be yard games, food trucks, and more.
Proceeds will benefit R.E.A.C.H., the Junior League of Ocala's collaboration with Marion County Public Schools. HeART in the Park is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Purchase tickets here.
Immerse yourself in the history of the Silver River on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15-16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver River Museum.
