Love Is In the Air: Valentine's Day in Ocala/Marion County
This year Valentine's Day falls on a Friday, which means there are tons of incredible ways for you and your loved one to spend this special day together.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate in Ocala/Marion County. Whether you're in the mood for a fun adventure or a quiet evening of romance, we've got just what you need.
Tap into your artistic side at Gallery B for a day of fun and creativity. Guided by a local artist, create a beautiful Valentine's Day-inspired work of art for yourself or someone special. Kids are welcome! The activities begin Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. More details available here!
Kick-off the weekend early at HITS Post Time Farm to see the best of show horse from around the world. The Ocala Winter Festival’s USHJA Green Hunter Incentive is on Thursday, Feb.13. Then watch the high stakes competition, $200,000 Ocala Electric Utility Grand Prix, on Sunday, Feb. 16. Located in the heart of the “Horse Capital of the World”™, HITS Post Time Farm includes 450 lush acres, over 100 permanent turn-out paddocks, and 30 permanent barns. Love in All Languages: A Valentine's Party
Enjoy Valentine’s Day with the Appleton Museum of Art’s party for friends, couples, and singles that celebrate love is love, in any language. Taste hors d’oeuvres from cuisines around the world and spirits featuring international beer and wine. Between tasty bites, dance your heart out to music by a guest DJ and take photos with the museum’s larger-than-life balloon wall.
Tickets are $40 per person. Details about purchasing are available here. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For the single people out there, join The Courtyard on Broadway for a Singles Mingle that includes a Taco Buffet, Giant Beer Pong, Fire Pits, and so much more! Who knows, you may find your true love while playing Giant Jenga.
The Taco Buffet costs $10.
Nestled in the treetops with a beautiful view of the Lost Spring Lake, enjoy a romantic time with your special someone. Available Feb. 14-17, 2020: Enjoy a private deck, sip wine, roast s’mores, and enjoy a picnic lunch.

HeART in the Park
Join the community for an art fundraiser in Tuscawilla Park to support families and children. On Saturday, Feb. 15, come out and paint something you love. The event encourages creativity in children of all skill levels by providing the opportunity for the children to paint. Each ticket will include canvas, an assortment of paintbrushes, and access to several art and craft supplies.
There will also be yard games, food trucks, and more.
Proceeds will benefit R.E.A.C.H., the Junior League of Ocala's collaboration with Marion County Public Schools. HeART in the Park is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Purchase tickets here.
Silver River Knap-In & Prehistoric Arts Festival Gallery
Immerse yourself in the history of the Silver River on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver River Museum. Enjoy the prehistoric arts festival with archery, stone tool and bow and arrow making, tours of Silver Springs State Park, food, a scavenger hunt, and so much more! Check out the event flyer here.

PAWS Ice Cream Social
Join the dog-loving community for some ice cream. Take your furry friend on a date to Letty Towles Dog Park on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Have some fun, eat some ice cream, shop grooming and pet supplies, and enjoy some time with your pet!
