What’s on Tap in Ocala/Marion County, Florida?

Ocala/Marion County, Florida is a charming locale in Central Florida. It’s welcoming and eclectic, and not often associated with the theme park scene located 75 miles southeast, or the coastal community situated 70 miles to the southwest.

There’s something unique brewing in this off the beaten path location. So what’s on tap in the area? Let’s start with Infinite Ale Works.

Located in the downtown Ocala historic district, in a repurposed auto service garage, Infinite Ale Works comes complete with foosball, ping-pong tables and an indie store selling local craft salsa, chips, ice-cream and more.

This downtown neighborhood brewery is worth a stop. With more than 40 craft beers on tap, and the owner’s love of craft Belgian beers (try Saison) it’s become a favorite gathering for travelers and locals alike. If you’re looking for a macro brew, this is not the place, as you will have access to limited release brews you’d only find in traditional hostelries. On any given night, expect a German wheat beer, a Lambic or Belgian quad, or even a nitrogen-tapped milk stout, and don’t expect the same beer menu to be on tap the next time your return. You can expect a friendly bartender, a welcoming crowd and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home.

The food scene in the area is equally charming. If a lake view and southern hospitality is on your menu, a visit to Eaton’s Beach Sandbar and Grill is quickly becoming a local favorite for the views and yummy home-style food. Pull up a lawn chair and get ready to enjoy a quirky, fun way to experience a delicious meal as Brooklyn’s Backyard is decorated with various ornaments, lanterns, and a full lawn. Come join in the fun!
