Drink in the Spooky Spirit with These Halloween Happenings!
After Dark In The Park Movie Series
On Friday, October 6, spend the evening at Citizens’ Circle for a free movie showing of Hotel Transylvania at 7 pm! The movie is sure to get you into the Halloween mood as it is about monsters including Dracula and Frankenstein staying at Hotel Transylvania. The movie is rated PG. Marion County Parks And Recreation's Annual Carnival
Kick off the Halloween season at the Marion County Parks & Recreation’s 5th Annual Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 7! Have some family-fun with games, music, food trucks, face painting and a haunted maze. Make sure to come in your best costume as there will be a contest! This 5th annual event takes place at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion in Ocala and is completely free to attend thanks to Marion County Parks and Recreation. The carnival festivities fall between 5-9pm.
Halloween Celebration At WEC
The World Equestrian Center (WEC) is hosting its annual Halloween Celebration at the Grand Plaza from 1-3pm on Sunday, October 29. Bring the whole family (leashed dogs are welcome) and trick-or-treat at vendor booths and restaurants, decorate cookies and pumpkins courtesy of Signature Brands and get a themed balloon from a spirited balloon artist. There will also be photo opportunities, so don’t forget your costume.
Hapi Harvest Day
Saturday, Oct. 28, from 1-4pm, visit Sholom Park in Ocala for Hapi Harvest Day. The afternoon will feature live music, a painted pumpkin hunt, interactive and educational trick or treat stations, food trucks and a Monster Mash Dance Party. Come in costume for a chance to win the costume contest. The event is hosted by Horticultural Arts and Park Institute, Inc.
Annual Fast Fall Festival
Another fun event on the Saturday before Halloween, Oct 28 is the 2nd Annual FAST Fall Festival at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST) venue in Ocala. Celebrate Halloween from 4-7pm with a candy crawl, costume contest, swimming and spray ground fun, special guest K-Country Radio and more. For more information, click HERE.
Entry to this family-friendly festival only $2 and is open to the public. To attend you must sign a facility waiver, you can pre-register to skip the line HERE or register in person the day of the event. FAST will also be offering 10% discounts on memberships and programs during the event!
Boo Bash
The Boo Bash at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place is a free, family-friendly event on Halloween Day hosted by the City of Ocala! The celebration is from 5:30-7:30 pm and will offer face-painting, spooky activities, candy and more for a safe and fun time. Costumes for all ages are encouraged!
Nightmare On Pine Street
Brave the annual Nightmare on Pine Street Haunted Trail and have a fright for a good cause at Wayne’s World of Paintball Every year the scary trail provides a fun way to celebrate Halloween through a guided tour full of ghostly and frightening characters. The trail is open the last three Fridays and Saturdays of October!
