Overview
Rains Battle: Fort King’s Most Desperate Hour
The Rains Battle brings to life the most significant hostile action to take place at Fort King, April 1840. This immersive reenactment begins deep in the surrounding woods before unfolding at the fort’s main gate, placing spectators at the center of Fort King’s most desperate hour in 1840.
Before the battle, enjoy extended museum hours, live blacksmith demonstrations and sales from 4:00–6:00 PM, and visit the food truck on site for refreshments. Guests must be parked on site and seated in the bleachers by 6:00 PM to ensure safety protocols are met before we begin.
If you’ve experienced our reenactment during the Festival at Fort King and are looking for more depth, surprise, and history, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Come witness history where it happened.
