Overview
This spring marks our second year hosting the Florida Frontiersmen Ladies Group, featuring a full weekend of historic homesteading and 19th-century life.
Demonstrations include:
Historic fashion displays
Cabin living and cast-iron cooking
Butter churning, coffee grinding, ice cream making, stone grinding, sad irons
Quilting, boondoggles, basket weaving, and rag doll making
Beekeeping, candle making, and honey production
Tea history and tastings
Handmade homesteading crafts available for purchase from historic trades(wo)men
This is a free event, and while over MCPS Spring Break, we invite campers, homeschools, families, and visiting groups to come learn, learn, learn! Games, informal learning opportunities, and open exploration along our trails and museum spaces. There will be no timed programs, allowing for flexible participation.
