Marion County
The Marion County government’s Public Relations Office handles filming requests on a case-by-case basis when facilitating filming activities on county property and advises filmmakers to contact property owners directly when the filmmakers’ interest is to take footage on private property.
Marion County does not have an ordinance prohibiting the filming and associated permitting with private property/business owners, so individuals can proceed in working directly with any and all private entities.

For filming at locations on federal property — the Ocala National Forest —please contact the regional or forest press offices.

City Of Ocala
Any person wanting to film on City of Ocala property, would need to apply for a permit through the Recreation and Parks Department. The review process for these types of permits are pretty quick and require a $10 fee.

Rainbow Springs State Park/Silver Springs State Park
For filming on state property, such as Rainbow Springs State Park or Silver Springs State Park, please contact the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Permitting is handled a little differently at each park, and can be discussed with each Park Ranger respectively.
