OCALA, FLORIDA – (June 3, 2014) – Sky Wheeler, Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau sales and operations manager, and Ashley Dobbs, Ocala/Marion County sales and marketing coordinator, have each been selected to receive travel and tourism industry awards.
Wheeler, nominated by Loretta Shaffer, executive director for the VCB, has been selected as one of the Top 30 Under 30 travel and tourism industry leaders by Destination Marketing Association International and will be recognized in July at their annual meeting being held in Las Vegas. Wheeler is a marketing graduate from the University of Central Florida and has been with the VCB since April 2013. Dobbs, nominated by both Wheeler and Shaffer, was selected by ConventionSouth Magazine for its Southern Hospitality Recognition of Excellence Award and will be featured in the August 2014 issue of the publication. Dobbs is a University of Florida graduate who focused her studies on telecommunications and video production and has been with the VCB since May 2013.
The Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau is the official branding, sales, and marketing organization for Marion County responsible for generating brand awareness, increasing travel to the area and booking sporting events, conventions and meetings.
