Ocala/Marion County Launches “Find Your Freedom Here” Postcard Contest for America 250
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Ocala/Marion County invites photographers, artists, and creatives to showcase what freedom looks like right here at home.
The “Find Your Freedom Here” Postcard Contest calls for original designs that capture the spirit of Marion County through a uniquely American lens—from rolling horse farms and historic charm to crystal-clear springs and scenic backroads. Participants are encouraged to incorporate elements of red, white, and blue, patriotic themes, and local history while highlighting the natural beauty and character of the destination.
Winning designs will be announced during National Travel and Tourism Week (May 3-9, 2026), celebrating the people and places that make Ocala/Marion County a destination worth exploring. The winning artwork will be featured on an official destination postcard, which will be made available for visitors and residents for free at the Ocala/Marion County Visitors Center in Downtown Ocala.
How to Enter:
- Capture a photo or design original artwork that reflects how freedom comes to life in Ocala/Marion County. From historic roots to natural beauty, capture the places, colors, and moments that reflect both our local story and the American spirit.
- Photos must capture a location open to the public.

Submission Guidelines:
- Designs must be horizontal/landscape
- High-resolution photography or original artwork only
- Submissions must represent locations within Ocala/Marion County
- No visible faces or identifiable individuals
- Entries may include patriotic elements such as the American flag, red/white/blue color palettes, or historic references
Contest Details:
Submissions will be accepted starting April 6 until April 24. Finalists will be selected by April 27, at which time, the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau will share a link to finalists to use to encourage public votes. Public voting will be from April 27 to May 1. This same voting link will also be made available to the general public through Ocala/Marion County’s official social media pages.
The winner will be announced during National Travel and Tourism Week (May 3-9, 2026).
