Carney Island Recreation & Conservation Area

Carney Island Recreation and Conservation Area is the destination for accessing Marion County's largest lake, Lake Weir. With more than 700 acres to explore, families can enjoy boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, picnicking, swimming, walking trails, fishing, volleyball and two separate playground areas. During the summer, our concession stand is open so you can cool off with an ice cream, or purchase last minute items needed for your boat. Visitors to the park often witness our resident deer, turkeys and bald eagles, so remember your camera and binoculars!
