Once a bustling 1800s steamboat stop, this riverside site helped carry travelers, mail, and goods through Florida’s wilderness during the steamboat era. Nearby, the small community of Daisy supported the landing with its own tram railroad, connecting locals to riverboats that served as vital transportation routes.

Today, Gore’s Landing is a quiet retreat managed by Marion County since 1966. Visitors can enjoy primitive camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, and easy river access by boat. As part of the Cross Florida Greenway corridor, the area preserves natural forests, wetlands, and abundant wildlife, offering a true Old Florida experience.
