Overview
In the shade of live oaks overlooking 168-acre Mill Dam Lake, Mill Dam Recreation Area offers two different experiences for the public. Between March 16 and September 30, it's a day use recreation area with a large swimming area and sandy beach accessible by wheelchairs. For the remainder of the year, October 1 - March 15, it becomes a group campground / recreation area for both day use and tent camping.
Operational Hours: 10 AM to 6 PM. When in use as a group campground / recreation area, check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out at 11 AM.

Restrictions: Fishing is not permitted from the bank of the recreation area.
General Notes: Mill Dam Group Campground is available for overnight stays as well as those desiring only day use rental. It is available for reservations October 1 – March 15. The remainder of the year, Mill Dam is a swimming and picnic area, open to all.
Mill Dam is located on the 168 acre Mill Dam Lake. Water play is popular here and campers bring their boats for easy access to lake activities. A large swimming beach adjoins the area and is accessible by wheelchair.

Day Use: This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the site to purchase a pass. Once on-site, follow the posted instructions and pay for your activity pass by scanning the QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. Download and sign into the free Recreation.gov mobile app on Android or iOS prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service: https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app
