Overview

Come enjoy the First Saturday Speakers Series at Silver Springs State Park, 10 AM in the Meeting Room of the Lundy Building the first Saturday of each month. Speakers address a range of general interest topics from native plants, to gardening, to manatees, to prescribed fire. Event is free with $2 park admission. On 9/5/26, Park Ranger Andrew Jenkins will speak on the the fastest spreading wildfire in US Forestry history, "35,000 Acres in Four Hours: The 1935 Big Scrub Fire," which occurred just down the road in the Ocala National Forest. Come enjoy a talk and a hike or a boat ride.
