Ocala/Marion County is home to countless scenic parks, rivers, lakes, and springs. Here are a few of the best parks to enjoy some outdoor fun:

Silver Springs State Park

There are dozens of activities to choose from at Silver Springs State Park. Whether you want to get out on the water, take a Glass Bottom Boat tour, or hit the trails, Silver Springs is the place to do it. The park has boat launches, rentals, restrooms, 14 miles of park to explore, and more, so you can spend the whole day in the park.

Rainbow Springs State Park

Rainbow Springs State Park is a beautiful family-friendly park surrounded by palm trees, gardens, waterfalls, and the Rainbow River. It’s an ideal place to cool off by swimming, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding. Or, have a peaceful afternoon with a stroll through the woods or lounge on the small beach at the Headsprings.

Orange Lake & Heagy-Burry Park

Orange Lake is one of the best known fishing lakes in Florida. It spans nearly 13,000 acres and offers a handicap-accessible fishing pier at Heagy-Burry Park with a fish attractor, providing hours of fun.

Ocala National Forest

However you like to “get away from it all,” there’s no better place to do it. Camp, hunt, and explore when you visit the Ocala National Forest. Located in the north section of the forest, Lake Kerr boasts clear waters that are unlike most lakes in Florida. The clear water creates a perfect scene for fishing and water recreation.

Silver Glen Springs Recreation Area

The Silver Glen Springs recreation area is a family-friendly spring that contains a beautiful freshwater spring run and an important archaeological site, letting you experience a natural landscape and a taste of Florida history at once. The clear waters typically remain at 72°F and are ideal for kayaking, canoeing, swimming, or snorkeling.
